FAQ

Have a question about Sunflour?
You might find your answer here!

1. How long have you been open?
Sunflour Baking Company has been open since the fall of 2009.

2. Is Sunflour a franchise?
No, we are a family-owned business. The bakery changed hands from the Bartok to the Parrish family in 2014 and continues its tradition of small batch, handmade baked goods created from scratch every day.

3. Do you offer anything vegan or gluten-free?
Yes, we regularly have a vegan cookies, including a chocolate chip walnut and we also make vegan muffins. Our entire bread selection is also vegan. Our gluten-free items include chocolate soufflé cake, coconut macaroons, crème brulee, and chocolate mousse. Please call to confirm availability of certain items as production varies day-to-day.

4. When do you stop serving breakfast?
We never stop! You can have breakfast and lunch throughout the day. Take your time or come in early, our full menu is available all the time!

5. Do you offer day-old bread or pastries?
Yes, but we also don’t want to see anyone go hungry. At the end of each day, some of our unsold baked goods are picked up by the Salvation Army, who in turn provide food for individuals and families in crisis.
6. How far in advance should I place a special order?
We kindly request 48 hours after confirming your order to prepare cakes, pies, or large quantities of pastries. However, for smaller orders you are welcome to call in and reserve from our daily selection.

7. Can I get mini cupcakes?
Yes! We have mini-cupcakes in any flavor on our menu. Please note that the minimum order is at least one dozen as they will be created especially just for you.

8. Can I get a custom cake?
Absolutely! Please send us an email with your requirements. Please be advised we will need at least 48 hours after having confirmed your order request.

9. Where is my favorite pastry today?
Many of our items use seasonal ingredients that we obtain from local farmer’s markets and vendors. For this reason, we do not carry every item year-round. Also, in an effort to ensure the freshness of each pastry, we bake in small batches. If you just can’t live without that cheddar biscuit but can only stop by late in the day, we suggest calling in advance to reserve your order.

10. Are you hiring?
We are always accepting resumes from interested applicants. Please send your resume and hours of availability to the email on our contact page.
